Dress Code

We welcome all brands of shoes, tights, and dancewear.

We place a group shoe order at the beginning of the year.  Ask to be fitted during the first week of classes if you'd like to participate in the order.

BALLET

• Leotard: Any color
• Tights: Pink (required, not optional)
• Optional: Fitted shorts or ballet skirts over leotard
• Shoes:
• • Junior & above: Pink split sole canvas ballet slippers
  • Preschool & Petite: Pink ballet slippers (canvas or leather)
• Hair: Must be pulled back in a bun (or headband if short)
• Boys: Black pants or fitted workout pants (shorts OK if not baggy), black ballet shoes

HIP HOP, BROADWAY, MUSICALS

• Clothing: Comfortable, non-restrictive attire
• Shoes:
• • Hip Hop: Clean white sneakers used only for dance (high or low tops are fine)
  • Broadway: Tan split sole jazz shoes and black Oxford tap shoes
  • Mini Musical: Tan jazz shoes or clean white sneakers used only for class
  • Middle & High School Musicals: Typically black or tan jazz shoes (Please wait for specific show info before purchasing)

OTHER DANCE STYLES (Jazz, Contemporary, Character)

• Top: Leotard, sports bra, or fitted top
• Bottoms: Jazz pants, leggings, or fitted shorts
• Preferred: Leggings (best for movement and floor work)
• Shoes: Tan split sole jazz shoes or half soles

TAP

• Preschool & Petite: Black tap shoes, snaps or velcro fasteners are encouraged
• Junior & above: Black Oxford style tap shoes
